LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE
Let sleeping dogs lie. Let sleeping dogs lie!
Man, just take a break. Iāll tell you why.
āCause weāre sick of all your preaching and your old, self-righteous tone.
Itās time that you leave well enough alone.
Well, I know you love to ramble and say whatās on your mind
But you canāt stand when others do the same.
You love to ruffle feathers, and say, āHey! Look at Me!ā
To you a conversationās just a game.
Let sleeping dogs lie. Let sleeping dogs lie!
Please donāt speak a word when you walk by.
āCause weāre sick of all your big-talk and your old, self-righteous tone.
Itās time that you leave well enough alone.
Well, just like any K-9, you've got to leave your mark,
so you whiz on every pretty fence and tree.
But if nobodyās perfect, then your piss aināt lemonade.
So zip it shut and simply let it be.
Let sleeping dogs lie. Let sleeping dogs lie!
Itās hard for you but I think you should try.
āCause weāre tired of all your bitching and your old, self-righteous tone.
Itās time that you leave well enough alone.
So when you pass your judgment, Iāll have to ask you this
Is it for the greater good or just yourself?
'Cause, I respect opinions and the freedom of the mind
But sometimes we should leave them on the shelf.
Now, my friend, I aināt malicious, and Iām really on your side.
But hereās one thing I hope you understand.
When youāre strolling through the world, donāt you touch that sleeping dog
Or that old pooch might wake up and bite your hand!
And rememberā¦..
Let sleeping dogs lie. Let sleeping dogs lie!
And donāt make wings for pigs that just donāt fly.
Weāre through with all your meddling and your old, self-righteous tone.
Itās time that you leave well enough alone!!!........
Yeah, weāre done with all your preaching and your old, self-righteous toneā¦ā¦
Itās time that you leave them poor dogs alone!.......
Yeah, let sleeping dogs lie!

Find My Way

FIND MY WAY
Well, here I am just living day to day,
and though itās nice, weāve all got bills to pay.
And in spite of all the good times that Iāll miss,
I know there must be more to me than this.
Iāve tried to make the most of every day.
but life or I keep getting in the way.
All I want is something to believe-
to play my hand, to give and to receive.
But often I just donāt know what to say,
so Iāll ask you now to help me find my way.
Sometimes that silver screen will beckon me
Other times it looks like pure insanity.
But when that fame nā fortune look real nice,
I can't find the will I need to pay that price
Should I move around or simply stay in place?
Should I march alone or join the big rat race?
Can I speak the truth and count on being free,
when the best of us donāt always find the key?
So, if Iām in the dark or gone astray,
please shine a light and help me find my way.
I dream of sleepinā deep through every night.
knowing what I did today was right.
I wanna go the distance far and wide.
but I could rest just knowing that I tried.
So, here I am just living day to day.
My friends are near, and the doc says Iām o.k.
But through the best of times and thankfulness,
I know there must be more to me than this.
So, with respect Iāll ask you if I may
to shine a light and help me find my way.

Miss Angel

MISS ANGEL
What on Earth is going on inside me?
Something changed upon that sunny day
My knees are weak and somehow I am smiling
It could just be that youāve blown me away.
V
Wellā¦. I stumbled all alone into this funky little town
Trying so hard to set things right and turn my life around
And you went out of your way just to say āHello!ā
It meant so much to me, I swear, more than youāll ever know.
And when you smiled, you took my breathā¦.itās true
Missy Missy Angel, I think Iām in a-love with you.
V
Wellā¦.. youāve got the brains, the brawn and lots of class
And if it came down to the wire, the will to kick some ass
You sang about your past, your joys and woes
And through the years of ups and downs, you look just like a rose.
And when youāre near my heart skips a beat or two
Missy Missy Angel, I think Iām in a-love with you.
(Bridge)
Now, you might think Iām just a shallow buck-o
who only likes you for your pretty face
But you cannot be one thing and look another, oh no
The beauty of your soulās your sweetest grace.
V (soft)
Now Iām a fool for love, but I do know this
Youād make me so happy, girl, with just one precious kiss
But if that will not happen in the end
It would be my honor, babe, to always be your friend
V
So I thought Iād sing to you my silly little song
And I really hope that it will help us get along
I rock for you, as all these people see
So please feel free to dance around, and fall in love with me.
And whether Iām feeling glad or bad or blueā¦..
Missy Missy Angel, I think Iām in a-love with you. X3

Once the Wind
04:51
|
|||
ONCE THE WIND
Trying all day and all night
To live life as I feel is right
Whether in pain or at ease
My thoughts run away with the breeze.
(Chorus)
I believe some other life
As sure as I have sinned
I was free to roam the skies
I was once the wind.
Through the canyons and the clouds
Flying high and low
Clearly I could see the path
I knew just where to goā¦.. just like the wind.
Iāve worked so hard to get by
Only to ask myself āWhy?ā
Surely I must have a place
With winds of an unending grace.
(Chorus)
Somewhere down along the road
I think I lost my way
My hunger went unsatisfied
Convention didnāt pay.
Like the wind I am not seen
And now Iāve got to go
It's time to take another course
And get on with the showā¦. Just like the wind.
I just canāt help but dream on
That one day my fears will be gone
And when they are I will be free
Free to live my destiny.
(Chorus)
Set me loose just like the wind
Then I can reach them all
Iāll cut through all the darkness
And through every prison wall.
Past the oceans and the storms
I'll move both day and night.
And once they see what I can do
Then Iāll be out of sightā¦
(Chorus)
I could be so far away
But yet Iām always near
To the light or the abyss
I will show no fear.
If I could be like the wind
All Iād do is roam
In the crowd or solitude
Now Iām coming homeā¦. Just like the wind.

She was looking for some comfort šļøšļø šļø
from the traffic and the heat āļøš„µ
-a fill-up for her hunger
and a place to rest her feet.
She glided through the sliding door
of the local Trader Joe's,
looking like a million bucks š° š„ š°
from her head down to her toes.
She said, "Please, Sir, can you help me
'cuz I'm looking for a treat
- a scrumptious slice of heaven š
for a soul that's feeling beat?"
The wise, old man smiled and said,
"Check in the other aisle, āļø
but be careful when you see it, š
or you might stay here a while."
'Cuz it ain't the frozen cherriesš
or the potent Tuscan kale. š„¬
In fact, it's something better,
but it's really not for sale.
That somethin' that you're looking for
won't just come in a box; š
it's a limited edition
that no place really stocks.
It's not found in a basket š§ŗ
or some sweet, low-fat ice cream šØ
If you want the cream of the whole crop,
then you will find your dream." š š š
"Ahhh," she thought, "Euphemisms, it would seem." š¤
So, she headed to the bakery š§ š© š„§
and then on to the beer š»
- past the wine and to the chips
without a hint of cheer.
She strolled on to the flowers, š š¹ šŗ
and a pretty view was found,
but nothing that could satisfy
and a tear dropped to the ground. šš„
But another kindly helper came
and said, "Can I help you, Miss? š
You look like you could use a lift š
or a boost of instant bliss.āļø
And please don't mind me saying this,
but what you're looking for
has stepped outside for just a bit
and right out through that door." š
"And it ain't no Snickerdoodle,
or those chocolate-covered hearts.š¤š¤š¤
It's out there in the parking lot
just pushing shopping carts!" š š š
"So tell the cashier when you depart
to...
Leave the quinoa, and ditch the peas,
and pass on all the spices, š§š¶ļø
and say, "Void the Fennel, please!
And, keep the salsa, skip the cheese, š§
and hold the munchies, but most of all...
Void the Fennel, please!'
'Cuz you don't need to gobble, girl,
to wobble in your knees!"
So, she took a step outside at last
into the scorching sun šš”ļø
onto the old, asphalt lot,
where no one goes for fun.
But, there it was- just the thing
-the one she was looking for. šÆ
When their eyes met, they both knew
the sparks would fly galore! āØš« š š
No, it wasn't near the produce š„š š„
or the finest Cabernet. š·
It wasn't at the check-out,
gluten-free or Chardonnay. š¾
See, the dream that she was dreamin' of
didn't just come in a box. š
It was a limited edition
that no place really stocks.
And, he ain't no Snickerdoodle
or some chocolate-covered hearts. š¤š¤š¤
He's just out there in the parking lot
just pushing shopping carts! šš š
So, she kindly said when she did depart, š
"I'll leave the quinoa and ditch the peas,
and pass on all the spices. š§š¶ļø
And, Void the Fennel, please.
And, keep the salsa, and skip the cheese. š§
Hold the munchies, but most of all,
Void the Fennel, please!
'Cuz I don't need to gobble, Sir, to wobble in my knees!
No, I don't need to gobble, Sir, to wobble in my knees!
And...Void the Fennel, please." š

Solid

Solid
Priceless like a wish come true,
his will is not for sale.
Nothing can corrupt it,
not hunger, wealth or jail.
He needs not gold or silver,
but freedom just to choose.
Heād rather toil honestly
than lie to only lose.
Pricelessā¦ like a wish come true
Steady like the winds of change,
his dreams will stand each breeze.
He values new and different views,
but never shall appease.
Heāll hurt not one for profit,
or when in dire straits.
He hopes that Judgement Day
heāll pass those pearly gates.
Steadyā¦ like the winds of change
Solid like that Swedish steel,
his conscience bears the cold.
Only if he thinks itās right,
will he do as he is told.
No one tells him who to be,
whose heart is in control.
He sails the wildest oceans;
heās the captain of his soul.
Solidā¦ like that Swedish steel
Yes, sir. He's solid....like I want to be.

Cell Phone Zombie
03:31
|

Look at that Cell Phone Zombie
With her face glued to her screen.
If I dropped dead, sheād move ahead
like I was never seen.
Look at all the Cell Phone Zombies
40,000 accidents a year
They trip and fall down, like a bunch of clowns
What the hell is goinā on around here?!
Well, Iāll tell yaā¦.
Chorus:
People now are just too afraid
to look each other right in the eye.
Tryinā to look so busy and cool
I just hang my head and sigh.
Donāt wanna be a Cell Phone Zombie
and fry my brain all day
and walk around my pretty town
with nuthinā at all to say.
Aināt gonna be a Cell Phone Zombie
or put the blinders on.
Whether on a train, on a bus or plane
Iām gonna sing to you my song!
Chorus:
Canāt they see all of the roses here,
or the chance to make a friend?
If theyād only stop and take a look around
they might not have to pretend!
Ain't gonna be a Cell Phone Zombie!
Don't wanna be a Cell Phone Zombie.
Ain't gonna be
drifting in the digital sea, no siree
Ain't gonna be a Cell Phone Zombie!
Chorus:
I wanna feel that Iām here with you
Together in this dive.
And do high fives and talk face to face
Like we did back in ā85.
Aināt gonna be a Cell Phone Zombie
gonna try to keep going on.
So wherever you go, either fast or slow
I hope you get this song!
Ain't gonna be a Cell Phone Zombie!
Don't wanna be a Cell Phone Zombie!
I'd rather crash and burn
than twist and slowly turn
into another cell Phone Zombie!
Look out! Here they come!!!

Make Your Stand
04:30
|
|||
Lately you've felt older
and your aching for much more.
You're working like a trooper.
and still the wolves are at your door.
Eager to impress them all
you gave the boss your best.
And then he laid you off like that
so you packed up for the West.
You hit the wall and were feeling low
and fell on the goodwill dime.
So you wrote some songs you prayed like hell
would not be just wasted time.
You pushed aside your essence
just to walk in others' shoes
But you're feeling so disconnected now
you've got nothing left to lose.
They never seemed to see you there
for who you know you are.
And in your gut you've always known
that you're a shining star.
You know you tried to make it work
as someone you know you're not.
Well now it's time to live your dreams
and show 'em all what you've got.
You've got to make your stand! )x2)
Now listen....
Grab your trusty six-string
Play it loud and play it true.
Your day job might not be much fun
but it does not reflect you.
Someone out there in the crowd
will see just who you are
And if you get booed off the stage
you're still a shining star.
Suits and ties never fit you right
or the raps to make a sale.
So answer that call deep inside
and my friend you will not fail.
You might never make a cent
but you won't die ashamed
Knowing you lived by your heart
that this hard world never tamed!
You've got to make your stand! (x2)
Grab your axe... and MAKE YOUR STAND!

Shadows & Dust
04:23
|
|||
Things we touch will come and go
And many marvels have their price
Still we keep up with the Joneses
Without ever thinking twice.
The novelty will fade
And it ends up in a bin
So it really makes no difference
To who I am or where Iāve been.
(Chorus)
The writingās on the wall
Thereās no use to pretend
A bag of gold is nice
But nothing beats a friend
We can reach out for the stars
We can live our lives or bust
But all those other things
Are just shadows and dust.
Now please donāt get me wrong
I do like pretty things
Like a picture on the wall
A pretty rose, and these guitar strings
But I know theyāre for sale
I can get them anytime
And if I canāt share them with you
Honey, they arenāt worth a dime.
(Chorus)
The writingās on the wall
Thereās no use to pretend
That if weāve got the money
Then everything will mend.
We can reach out for the stars
We can make it real or bust
But all those other things
Are just shadows and dust.
Shadows and Dust. Thatās what it means to me
When you obey your toys, and you arenāt feeling free.
Shadows and Dust. Itāll play out in the end.
When people tell you lies time and time again.
Now Iāve been āround the world
I have my cool degree
Iāve put it all together
And it makes no sense to me.
But thereās one truth I know
If you give me just one thing
A shoulder I can lean on
Would give me everything.
(Chorus)
The writingās on the wall
Thereās no use to pretend
From sandbox politics
To old wars that never end
We can reach out for the stars
We can take a chance or bust
But all those other things
Are just shadows and dust.
