4/28/22 I'm sure we've all wondered why we're what we are why some look just fine and then others F.U.B.A.R. When the data falls short and the logic's not found it could be the creatures to whom we are bound. And so as we wonder why we're what we are, well, maybe the answer is not all that far -not science, nor chaos nor astrology. It could be no more than the creatures we see. πŸ‘€ For example... She fights like a tiger so quick and so sleek and roars her proud passion -too fierce for the meek. But when she's contented she lounges all week and she purrs if she likes you with her eyes of mystique. While he is as prickly as a big porcupine He will not break bread or offer you wine. He blows on his bullhorn that nothing is fine and he waddles real slowly like a prick by design. Some cluck like crazed chickens and gossip's their trade. Their feathers are ruffled no matter what's laid. Some are chameleons who play any line and they argue for nothing with no faith to define. Some are like canines who just love to play They'll be your best friend if you pet them all day. Some are like felines who might need much less but just what they're thinking... is anyone's guess. (Chorus) As I am a fish of the 7 Great Seas, you are a squirrel of the finest green trees. I swim with the currents or float by with ease. You jump and you scramble or glide with the breeze. You juggle those acorns, oh my, what a tease! Hey, You, way up there! Come swim with me please.🐠 The rebels are eagles who aim for the sky. They spread their wings out without telling us why. The nobles are turtles who take their sweet time. Their shells are rock-hardened but their faces sublime. 🐒 My man is a workhorse who pulls his own weight. He bucks off the trifles and keeps his face straight. And just like an ant she can dig, run and climb You'll see her move one way... then turn on a dime! (Chorus) As I am a fish of the 7 Great Seas, you are a squirrel of the finest green trees. I swim with the currents or float by with ease. You jump and you scramble or glide with the breeze. You juggle those acorns, oh my, what a tease! Hey, You, way up there! Come swim with me please.🐠 ...or maybe later tonight when we're catching some Zs! πŸŒ™ πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸŒ™

5/10/22 Another day is done of just wearing out my shoes. I've passed by a million faces from a million different places But nothing new is news. I'm a king of wishful thinking and I wish for something more. I can dig all her high-tech and her semi-weekly check But there's more worth living for. Sometimes when my chin is up or my head is hangin' down the feeling will play me like a song. Something about this whole place -with a spirit all her own- gives me pause before I trek along. Another day will come which could outshine the last. I've taught well and I've learned I've been soothed and burned where the future meets the past. I'm a fish who's outta water but I know that's best for me She's small and big enough She's charming and she's tough where we all fight to be free. Sometimes when my chin is up or my face is lookin' down the feeling will play me like a song. Something about her embrace - with a spirit all her own- gives me pause before I trek along. And there's nothing really like a Bean Town Sunday. Her shiny glass and faded bricks all standing side-by-side Her dark blue skies and the buzz of youth are calling me outside Working hard and playing hard, her wind blows through my hair and I catch myself marveling at what's happening out there. And I always know when it's a Bean Town Sunday. Another day of thanks for what has come to be. I've got my share of pain which could make all the gain that I will ever need. I'm a man for all her seasons and her reds n' blues n' greys. I'm ruled by her winter sting and her birds that always sing and her crispy Autumn days. Sometimes when my chin is up or my chips are lookin' down The feeling will play me like a song. Something about her fine face - with a spirit all her own - gives me pause before I trek along. And there's nothing really like a Bean Town Sunday.

5/14/22 They feast like hogs, we work like dogs, but our conscience still is clean. Keepin' up and screenin' frauds who don't say what they mean. Their penny pinchin', corner cuttin' is right down to a grind. But thank God Friday's come at last before we lose our minds! So...Fire it up! Let's go have a little fun We can do just what we like and stop having to run Fire it up! Bring a healthy appetite Dine or dance or rock n' roll- anything is fine 2 night! Fire it up!!! ...and feelin' good is good enough! Meditation and contemplation help us make ends meet. But we're alive and kickin' jive when some drop dead from the heat. We're so lucky that we can rock new ways to move our feet. What goes around still comes around It's still a 2-way street. So... Fire it up! Let's go have a little fun We can do just what we like; it's our time in the sun. Fire it up! Bring a healthy appetite. Dine or dance or rock n' roll - it's gonna be just dy-no-mite! Fire it Up!!! .... and feelin' good is good enough! Those politicians and statisticians will never bring us down Life's too short with lots of gems so let's go out on the town! And even if our backs are sore or eyes are burned with strain, I believe God put us here to board that party train! So... fire it up! Let's go have a little fun We can do just what we like; no more under the gun Fire it up! Bring a healthy appetite Dine or dance or rock n' roll - in the crowd or outta site. Fire it up! Bring a healthy appetite Dine or dance or rock n' roll - Life's an apple; take a bite! Fire it Up! Bring a healthy appetite Dine or dance or rock n' roll- we'll take the wrongs and make 'em right! Fire it up! Now, we don't need perfection, friend or some high-minded fluff. Sarge Elias said it best: "Feelin' Good is good enough!"

5/20/22 Now, I'm not superstitious but I know when somethin's wrong when sudden thoughts at 3am come hit me like a gong! I know in spite of all my treks, I feel I'm missing out and in spite of higher learning don't know what it's all about. They say hindsight is 20/20, and maybe that it true but I'm still making old mistakes or playing someone's fool Maybe one day I'll get wise; I hope it won't be long. But 'till it comes I'll strum and bumble just like Cheech and Chong! (Chorus) So if you say I'm bungling the same ol', silly song or if you claim I've come up short and just can't get along or if you think of Heaven as a place I don't belong, then tell me... tell me...tell me, please. Where did I go wrong? Is my damage from those edibles, or the bad friends that I made, or guilt from Johnny's Oreos that I stole in 2nd grade, or rage from sibling rivalry or my own D.N.A., or sorrow from that beauty queen who I let slip away? Or does it come from that blue jail they called my middle school? Or is it from too much chlorine in Bobby's swimming pool? Or does it come from reading crap and all those fairy tales? Or does it come from any spook who's going through my mail? (Chorus) So if you say I'm bungling the same ol', silly song or if you claim I've come up short and just can't get along or if you think of Heaven as a place I don't belong, then tell me... tell me...tell me, please. Where did I go wrong? Now, if stupid were a Pinto, well, you know I'd slam the brakes and I would cut my losses now if that's what it would take You could bring it to my face and I'd take it like a man 'cause I don't care for make-believe and I ain't Peter Pan. I count the things that I've done right, but only on one hand Grappling all my damn regrets, I wonder how I stand. But maybe it's a blessing that pretends to be a curse I just hope that thanks to love it won't get any worse! (Chorus) So if you say I'm bungling the same ol', silly song or if you claim I've come up short and just can't get along or if you think of Heaven as a place I don't belong, then tell me... tell me...tell me, please. Where did I go wrong? And if my song is truly wrong, then I don't wanna be right!

Lean On Me 05:28
When the tempest blows above you and the night around you raps When your true sense of direction is no better than "perhaps"... You can just put out your hand and you'll find a driven stake that is made of solid iron and will neither bend nor break. Lean on me...Lean on me. In trouble...Lean on me. But if all our sorrows cease and our land should live in peace, I'll still want you...to lean on me. If you find you're in a cage someone made while you were gone While you count the bars around you just remember what you've won. Lean on me just like you should; I won't crack like rotten wood. Yes, I still want you... to lean on me. Lean on me...Lean on me. In trouble...Lean on me. But if all our sorrows cease and our land should live in peace, I'll still want you...to lean on me. And when the sun is sinking and it fills you with regret My friend, you need not worry 'cause the farm is yours to bet that I'll be standing by you in the times you rise or fall. I'll be your Rocksteady if you win or lose it all. When the storm and tempest calm and the trees no longer crack When together with our neighbors we can take our homestead back We can either limp alone or hold fast like a stone So be ready then...to lean on me. You need not have a doubt when you're up or down and out that you can always lean right on me. And as we March through this hard land we all could use a hand And you can always lean right on me! Lean on me...Lean on me. In trouble...Lean on me. But if all our sorrows cease and our land should live in peace, I'll still want you...to lean on me. Yes, I'll still want you...to lean on me.

1980s Kid 05:44
6/20/22 All the years mean different things to folks all 'round the world And I've got mine that mean the most to me. From '86 to '91 that wave I rode was high. My life has never been so light and free. From Maverick's dangerous "need 4 speed" to Arnold's "I'll be back" I still get the ol' goosebumps every time. A hundred good "Cheers!" on the tube and a thousand big hair songs fit the seasons full of rain and shine. Camp-outs in the Redwoods and Zombie 'round the house Decking all the streets with our T.P. Nothing beats the first time that I won at Mario or the Friday bell that set us loose at 3. No need for a smartphone or I.D., card, or keys; 5 bucks and 2 wheels were all I'd need. Staying up for Mr. Clause and huntin' Easter eggs made my world a true wonder indeed. (Chorus) In the ever so-called "modern" world I'm learning bit by bit. I've got my apps all up-to-date and I'm glad, I must admit. And I can hack myself some joy if I must work the grid. But in my heart....I'm a 1980s kid! That old, grey wall was coming down with a changing of the guard. A bit more hope was floating in the air. I was granted everything and more than I asked for, though I was always told life isn't fair. But I won't push a memory or my bias of the past or legislate just turning back the clock. 'Cause touting by-gone glory is the Devil's sales pitch; to fight the march of time is just a crock. But I can draw from way-back then to help me move along and put it in right where and when I should. I might not do justice to the times I've loved and shared, but if I could you bet I surely would! (Chorus2) In the ever so-called "modern" world some fancy pants do fit. I've got my apps all up-to-date and I've got some Google wit. And I can play the new-age man and temper my old id. But in my heart...I'm a 1980s kid! (Chorus3) In the ever so-called "modern" world my motions seem legit. I've got my apps all up-to-date and my site just got a hit! I can fly in cyberspace and that's just what I did But in my heart...I'm a 1980s kid!

All It Takes 04:51
9/1/22 I could feel today I've hit the bottom and landed right on my head and my friend shows up but he can't help so he throws me a shovel instead. I could come home beat n' bruised n' burned with my senses all but fried and I'm wishin' all those trolls I got had crawled somewhere and died! (Sub-Chorus) But a smile from you or just a peck can turn it all around Or, an "I missed you" or "I'm glad you're here" can lift me off the ground. Yeah, just one squeeze or just one note... You know that's what I love. I'll take just one, the best you've got or all of the above. That's really all it takes That's really all it takes. Just a little touch; I hope it's not too much. (Chorus) Lest my poor heart breaks from it's never-ending aches But something sweet from you is really all it takes. I could be called lots of wretched names or robbed of my sense of worth and shake my head at what I've done in this crazy place called "Earth" I could lose my cool to play the fool and make it all real bad and I'll clench my fist and grit my teeth when I see that I've been had. (Chorus) Lest my poor heart breaks from intangible earthquakes But something sweet from you is really all it takes. I could think that life is mean and wrong but that I'm the real mistake and I'll watch my best of efforts dissed no matter what I make. I could be a lug who learns too late I'm my own worst enemy and still, I know, the lessons go on and on for eternity. Just a little touch; I hope that's not too much. (Chorus) Lest my poor heart breaks from all of our mistakes But something sweet from you is really all it takes. Somethin' sweet from you is really all it takes

There comes a time when we have to go out on our own and certainty’s sure there is more that I have to be shown Good fortune will shine on all those who open their souls Like the seeds are sown and the tall grass grows. He slips away to the places the fates have him go The warm summer breeze turns the red autumn leaves, then to snow The songs of the trees and the winter's reprieve help them grow Now the birds have flown and the long winds blow. Oh, my how they blow... I want to know if I'll ever surrender to love Will I remember to honor the one I’ve become? How many times will life want to know if I’m strong? The fates march on, A life is drawn. Like the seeds are sown and the tall grass grows. And the birds have flown and the long winds blow. The fates march on My life is drawn.... on and on.

I am tired of complaining I am tired of explaining I am tired of restraining my true, weathered self. I am trying to just sit here Not trying to fit here Like a second-hand book on a brand-new bookshelf. I've run around life like a dog on a dance floor Unnoticed, unheard, and unseen. Trying to get from one place to another Without getting kicked in between. There are too many reasons for trials and treasons and not enough seasons from winter to fall... for a man in his twilight with a brain like a skylight who can look but can't see anything at all. I've run around life like a dog on a dance floor Unnoticed, unheard, and unseen. Trying to get from one place to another Without getting kicked in between. I suppose you're gonna tell me you can buy me or sell me if that's what I look like to them and to you. Was it all my delusion or a young man's confusion? Was there anything better I could go up and do? I've run around life like a dog on a dance floor Unnoticed, unheard, and unseen. Trying to get from one place to another Without getting kicked in between. Yeah, trying to get from one place to another... without getting kicked in between.
